The thought had never really occurred to me that I could just go out and buy a new harddrive for this laptop that just broke. I’ve messed around a lot with desktop hardware but laptop hardware has always seemed fairly mystical to me and I’ve never opened one up to look inside. Turns out it’s really quite easy to replace the harddrive so yesterday I went to Akihabara, bought one, installed it, reinstalled windows, and huzzah! I’m back up and running quickly, only with some possibility of picture lossage on the other harddrive.
The bad news though, is that school starts back up again tomorrow. That means I have to wake up in 6 and a half hours, booo! Anyways, I’m extremely happy to have this computer running again and will no doubt be editing pictures with 150% less frustration.
After I got it fixed and during my transferring of pictures from my old computer to this new one I went through and found some older fall color pictures:
