If you have been around me while I’ve been editing pictures or pretty much doing anything on my laptop for a long time now you’ll know how slow it is, especially photoshop. I’ve come to realize the awesome power of shooting in RAW as well and to even look at the files on my laptop takes an absurd amount of time. Well, my amazingly generous dad was kind enough to give me his nice and shiny fancypants Dell laptop which I have been using with great success recently… until the other night. I was just minding my own computer using business, really really really enjoying the speediness of it all, when I got a beautiful blue screen of death. “Strange, but not uncommon,” I thought. Restart. Windows starts loading up. Blue screen. “Hmmm…” Restart. Windows starts loading up. Blue screen. Shit.
To make the hours of my life that I’ve spent trying to figure out and fix this computer short I’m fairly certain the harddrive is damaged beyond repair. This means I’m back to using my slow laptop again. Unfortunately it also means that I’ve got hundreds of pictures from the past couple weeks on the nice laptop’s harddrive that I have no way of getting to right now and are going to be a pain to recover, if it’s even possible.
It scares me that the Dell Laptop’s harddrive just died randomly so I’m trying my hardest to back up all my files on my older but still working laptop. This is made more difficult by the fact that every time I try to copy a file or even just create a folder on my backup external harddrive I get a blue screen of death and my computer restarts. Whatttt theeee helllllll
This is all really pretty obnoxious and hopefully won’t be too difficult or expensive to fix. In the mean time I’ll be puttering along trying to get some pictures done. In fact… wait… I think… yes! Here’s one of a girl:
