Sophia’s Cafeteria

Sophia’s campus is realllllllllly small and only takes about 3 minutes to walk across. It’s basically just one wide road with really tall buildings lining it. The road has huge trees lining it that have really beautiful fall colors right now… and christmas lightttsssss! Although our school is technically Catholic, Japanese people love holiday decorations and buying related things even if they don’t necessarily celebrate the holiday.

Supposedly it’s a school of 10,000 people, but I see the same people all the time. I like the small college atmosphere a lot, it’s a really nice change from the ridiculously huge NCSU where you walk around all the time and hardly ever see friends.

One of the best things about campus though is the cafeteria. It’s on the 5th floor of a building and although the inside of it gets super crowded during lunch time if you brave the strong winds you can go up on the roof where it’s significantly easier to find a table and you get a pretty fantastic view of Shinjuku.

Here are some shots of Shiori and Ryota showcasing it’s full glory

Everytime I’m up there I just think about how crazy and awesome it is that I’m in Tokyo. Tokyoooo!  The most ridiculous of citiesss

If you look at that last picture you can see the hotel featured in lost in translation.  It’s the 3 leveled one to the right of the tallest one that looks kind of like the empire state building.  Even farther to the right in the picture are the twin buildings that I went up a while ago but they didn’t let me take pictures in.

I’ll take more pictures of campus sometime but these were so obvious they couldn’t be avoided.
