Last night we all took it easier after Friday night’s Karaoke extravaganza. We ended up just eating dinner at a cheap Italian restaurant in Shinjuku, which was a lot of fun. Today Claudia, Miguel, Ramiro, Moe and I met up in Shinjuku again and searched for messenger bags and a computer for Miguel. It was pretty rainy all day, which isn’t fun anywhere, but in Tokyo it’s a little more obnoxious. Tokyo is already an insanely crowded city. When you give the 30 million people umbrellas it becomes even more of a problem.
Here are a couple pictures from one of my first days in Tokyo. It’s from the orientation party and then afterwards when some of us went to Shinjuku.
Tomorrow I have to get up early for the first day of classes. Except they haven’t realllly assigned our schedules until Tuesday so you aren’t really sure if you made it into the classes or not yet… everybody just goes to the classes they want to be in tomorrow. Yes, it’s strange and funny, but so is Japan.
